"Always a Pleasure to Meet a Fellow Bowhunter"
In designing the new Totem Pole Mark chose the Eagle, Deer, Bear, Owl, and Indian Chief to represent "His Kinship Group" where the Indian Chief is the "Kinship Group Clan Leader" and in the most prestigious position on the Totem pole!

"Thank You" for your support and help to the Mudjaw Bowmen Club officers, board members and the members for helping to bring this 2 year long project to final completion! I joined the Mudjaw Bowmen Archery Club in 2004 and have enjoyed being a member and work for the club! Thankful for all the friends and memories coming from being a member! When I joined I didn't know the story behind the original Totem Pole! But in reviewing the club's recording secretary's meeting notes I found out that the Leo Bushroe family had commissioned my father's cousin Richard Vergiels to carve the "Leo J. Bushroe Memorial Totem Pole" to erect in 1968 on the Mudjaw Bowmen property. The location to be on west side of the property near entrance of "Bushroe Lane" where the 3-D archery course begins. Further research found that Leo's daughter Shirley Bushroe's husband Harold Vergiels was the brother of the carver Richard Vergiels.
